DEFENSE SENSE

"REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM"

Introductory Defensive Firearms Training

Welcome!

We're glad you're interested in local defensive firearms training.

Governor Cox recently signed HB 60 which allows concealed carry of a firearm in Utah without a permit (commonly referred to as "constitutional carry").

Carrying a firearm is a fundamental right, but can also be a substantial liability. Are you confident and prepared to defend yourself and your family?

Meet the Instructors

Our amazing team of experienced instructors are chomping at the bit to get on the range with you!

We constantly strive to develop our own skills beyond what we currently possess so that we can return and share that knowledge with every student that comes through our courses.

Weston Brandon

Owner of Defense Sense LLC, Weston has been training in defensive firearm techniques for nearly a decade, but finds the most joy in teaching the art he loves and continues to study. His most common advice to students is to remember WHY they're training.

Mallory Heinberger

Owner of Shield Maiden Tactical, Mallory credits the majority of her firearms skill and technique to her mentorship from renowned firearms trainer John Farnam. Her favorite part of teaching is watching the "transformation of the individual."

Fred Swain

Hailing a background as a 19 year peace officer, as well as time with special forces as an interrogator, Fred gives us an invaluable perspective from the other side of the legal perspective. He is passionate about helping students eliminate their excuses and finding a way to win!

Rooster

Rooster has seen it all. Although he prefers his identity kept off the internet, years of combat from military contractor missions provide a wealth of experience for our students to learn from. He often speaks of the need to cross a mental bridge of being willing to defend yourself.

Mason Allred

Mason is a life long student of the gun. He is committed to improving a well-rounded, high level defensive skill set and is passionate about helping good people become better protectors.
